EI-1184 is a two part silicone encapsulant offering clear, reliable electronics protection for any application requiring strong protection from harsh conditions. With its high transparency and weatherability, EI-1184 delivers reliable, long lasting protection of sensitive LED electronics in environments containing moisture, UV light, thermal cycling and extreme temperatures.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor luminaire applications, EI-1184 is just one of several Dow Corning silicone solutions designed for the secondary optics market. EI-1184 is clear enough to use in the light path and won’t crack or yellow over the expected lifetime.

EI-1184 from Dow Corning enjoys rapid and versatile cure processing controlled by time. Furthermore, this new product conforms to UL F1, the standard specified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) ensuring that a material meets specific parameters for resistance to UV and moisture exposure.

EI-1184 comes in a simple, two-part liquid component kit that requires a comparatively simple 1:1 mix ratio unlike conventional grades that mix 10:1. This not only reduces the potential for error during preparation, it also makes it easier for manufacturers to simplify processing, control quality and reduce costs for high volume production. Once mixed, the formulation cures to a flexible elastomer, which is well suited for the protection of electrical and electronic applications.

Ellsworth Adhesives Europe has signed a new agreement with Lord Corporation, making it an official distributor of Lord Structural Adhesives.

Announcing the deal, Managing Director John Henderson said “We are delighted to expand our partnership with Lord Corporation. We believe this new range of products will be well received by large segments of our customer base and we are confident we can go on to become Lord’s largest distributor across Europe.”

The implementation of this new distributor agreement strengthens the long standing partnership between Lord and Ellsworth Adhesives, and grants its European division permission to supply Lord structural adhesives across the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Germany, Spain and Portugal.

The Lord structural adhesives range consists of acrylic, epoxy and urethane adhesives that have been designed to improve manufacturing processes and final products for composite, metal and plastic assemblies. With their strength and flexibility, Lord structural adhesives provide a durable and low cost alternative to rivets, welds and tapes. For your convenience, Lord adhesives are available in convenience cartridge packaging to bulk packaging that includes gallons, pails, drums and totes for high volume applications. Ellsworth Adhesives Europe is now taking orders for the DC100 – a newly launched digital precision dispenser manufactured by Fisnar. With more programmable features than any previous Fisnar dispenser, the DC100 offers the ultimate in user control.

The DC100 represents an advancement in dispensing technology that not only allows the user more control over their dispensing applications, but also brings more functionality to the desktop dispenser. Alarms can be set to notify the user when material life has ended or fluctuations in dispensing pressure have occurred. An auto purge function prevents premature curing of the material when the dispenser is not in operation. The Dymax BlueWave QX4 has all the benefits of LED curing technology, contained within in a compact unit. This versatile system is comprised of a controller and up to four LED heads, which are available in 365, 385, and 405 nm and can be outfitted with 3-, 5-, or 8-mm diameter focusing lenses.

The LED heads and focusing lenses can be used in any combination and can be controlled through the system’s variable mode, a feature that allows each head to be individually programed for intensity and cycle times. Individual exposure times and intensity settings can be set in 1% increments for each LED head, giving users maximum curing flexibility.

Dow Corning EA-4600 is a solvent free, one-component, moisture-cure silicone material offering longer open time and pot life, as well as lower odour and lower levels of volatility compared to conventional organic-based hot melt adhesives.

Designed for the electronic devices market, Dow Corning Hot melt adhesive EA-4600 promises to deliver enhanced reliability, reworkability and waterproofing for smart devices. With its room temperature vulcanization (RTV), this black adhesive provides improved assembly of consumer electronics and other high-volume demanding manufacturing operations.

Uniquely formulated to dispense easily, Dow Corning EA-4600 achieves instant green strength, allowing electronic assemblies to be handled immediately after its application. EA-4600 can be applied neatly as a liquid melt in very thin bonding lines of less than 0.5mm.

EA-4600 offers extended service temperatures from -40°C to 150°C. The material will soften when exposed to high temperatures, but revert to its typical properties after cooling. Unlike conventional polyurethane-based hot melt solutions, Dow Corning EA-4600 Silicone Hot Melt Adhesive incorporates ultraviolet (UV) markers to support automated UV inspection of finished parts. It can also be easily reworked within 24 hours of application. Once fully cured, Dow Corning EA-4600 Hot Melt Adhesive delivers outstanding, durable protection against chemicals, water and dust to enhance the reliability and performance of high-value electronics assemblies.

As a reactive material, EA-4600 cools quickly and cures at room temperature to become a viscoelastic polymer providing strong, flexible, primeless adhesion to an abundance of plastic and metal substrates.
